Some people just have their life nicely arranged.. :-)
Mikael lives in the neighbour hood with his own golf-green like airstrip on the backside together with his (also a pilot) wife. They are both so over the top nice that you just have to love them. Mikael does things in suck a short amount of time that I just get amazed. He restores and builds aircrafts in his spare time (apart from being a full time airline pilot) with such quality that it is close to impossible to comprehend, but don’t take my word for it, believe EAA USA, as the only one ever the judges at EAA at sun’n fun awarded him the grand champion award with maximum possible 100points.
Most people need a lot of years to completely restore a cub. Mikeal decided to retore his while he had some spare time waiting for an engine to arrive for one of his other projects… So this guy kind of restores an aircraft faster then FEDEX delivers a package :-)
Couple of pics below, but the really fun aircrafts is presented on his own page, visit it!

One of the fun things of owning a STOL plane is the chance of getting invited to events that no mortal can obtain access to :-)
Seriously speaking there is a tiny (~1000feet) airstrip in the middle of Copenhagen that once a year accepts a few aircrafts by invitation only. The airfield was once a german test airfield during WW2 but was of course then much larger. With 11m railway and power lines at both ends it is a real challenge to get a aircraft down there. I was the only foreign aircraft there and with the exception of the chipmunk the largest one. It was a really fun event and a challenge, so a day well spent!
As a bonus I was routed straight over Kastrup at 1500feet. Fun!, usually they always just ask GA aircrafts to stay out of their CTZ.

A few of the WW2 hangars is left.

Actual strip. Freeway lights to the right. One of the reasons the Danish FAA/CAA just allows a few aircraft movements a year is that they think that the drivers on the freeway will get so distracted by the aircrafts that they will not be able to stay on the road(!)

One of the major bonuses of really small ‘airshows’ is how close you get. This one is the nicest Chipmunk in Denmark!
